Answers to common questions about target company URL research, how our tool works, and its limitations.
Target company URL research is the process of finding the likely website and domain for a company, usually starting from a company name on a list. It involves cleaning the name, searching a company data source, and comparing candidate results to decide which one is the best match.
You paste company names, one per line. The tool cleans duplicates and common legal suffixes, searches each cleaned name against a company data source through our API, scores every candidate result against your input on a 0-100 scale, and shows the best match plus up to three alternatives.
Each run processes up to 25 names. For longer lists, split your list into batches of 25 or fewer and run them one after another.
No. Company lists you paste into the tool are processed for that run only and are not stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Results depend on name similarity between your input and candidate company data, and on the coverage of the underlying company data source. High-confidence matches are usually correct but are not guaranteed — always verify important results manually.
The match score (0-100) reflects how closely a candidate company name matches your input, based on exact match, normalized name similarity, word overlap, and domain-to-name similarity. It does not verify legal ownership of a domain.
No. The tool compares name similarity, not legal or ownership records. Use the match score as a starting point and verify important domains manually before relying on them.
Yes. After a run completes, an Export CSV button lets you download your results with target company, matched company, domain, URL, match score and confidence level as columns.
Yes. Many users research target account lists this way before lead enrichment or CRM import. See our page on target company URL research for B2B sales for a full workflow.
Yes. Recruiters use it to resolve company names to domains as a starting point for talent research, often paired with our Careers Page Finder to locate a company's likely jobs page.
No. The API endpoint at /api/company.php can be called directly without an account, subject to a basic per-IP rate limit. See the API documentation for details.
A company might not be found if it is too small or new to appear in the underlying company data source, if the name entered is too different from how the company is officially listed, or if there was a temporary error contacting the data service.
